Here is a story about my relationship with "Technologia"
- introduction

---"Technologia" Russian synth pop project, known back in 1990's now less, but things are not that bad as they seem to be, new album is on the way later in 2005 year. On this site I would like to show a time table of my relations with the band and some other facts which can be interesting to others. Mind, this page reflects only personal experiences and approved by the band before it was launched. Some of the media files can be in Russian, if someone needs explanation or translation, do contact me.

Here is a timeline:

-1991
---First time I have heard about "Technologia" from my mate. He came to my place and asked if I have seen "Russian Depeche Mode" singing on TV. Well, I was surprised and surely answered "not". Next day he brought a tape with their album. I was impressed by the sounds and lyrics. Was very unusual and creative. For these days there was not possible to obtain original factory CD or tape, only a copy from the studio as "reel album" recorded on tape. These reel-tapes were sent to all corners of the country and then local distributors were selling them previously pre-recorded on cassette tapes. So, I have obtained my copy of this album after a while. Technologia TV appearances were not that often, they were touring mostly in the enter of the country and I have never imagined I could see them live or meet in person, but seems all crazy dreams may come true one day.
-1992

---Almost a year after, there was 2nd "MV-Show", Astrakhan local programme, where I should take part as a guest. Some days before the show I was invited for the meeting with one of the journalists of the local newspaper "Komsomolets Kaspia", who had informed me that right after a show there will be "Technologia" performance and they are going to take an interview with them. But, they had not a clue what to ask. Why me? Well, from 1991, in Astrakhan I was a leader of local movement of Depeche mode fans and as they say, I am the guy to have a consultation with. Was already known, that "Technologia" is a Russian model of the famous British band. We had agreed that I will help to hold an interview and state the day and time with the guys for this purpose.

---30.11.1992, the day "Technologia" had to arrive for rehearsals to the Regional Philharmonic apartments, I was awaiting them since early morning, somewhere in the afternoon small bus arrived to the doorstep of the concert call of Philharmonic. About 10 persons appeared with different stage stuff and headed inside. I have recognized Roman Rjabtsev and Anderej Kokhaev. There was one guy that seemed to me very similar to solo singer, Vladimir Nechitailo, but he had blond hair, particialy colored in to green. After a while I was informed that he is Nechitailo. I was fairly surprised, because on images where I have seen him he had slightly different haircut. Some hours passed since they have arranged all over the stage and rehearsals had been started. I had "all areas access" and had no problems To move where I want and I took 1st row in the auditorium hall. Was pretty boring to be there without having a word, auditorium was almost empty, besides "Technologia" personnel. I went backstage and sat over the piano, on its top. Nearby I have spotted a huge guy, we started to talk and he shared with me that he is their security person, we have exchanges some words and he went somewhere shortly.

---I was listening to "Technologia" rehearsing, suddenly my ear had something very recognizable to catch, yeah, Roman Rjabtsev started to play and sing first parts from DM's "Shake the Disease", I have started to applause and after some seconds he stopped. In some time they took a break and I have found Roman and Vladimir sitting in the 1st row of the hall talking about something, For a second I was confused, I should go to them and start to talk, I had to introduce myself and explain what I want and I have never did that before, I was shivering. I have found forces and headed to them. We have shaked hands, I have introduced myself, so did they. I have shortly explained what I want form them and what should be our further plans, if they agree for sure. I have received positive answer and next day there was agreed that me and other journalist should arrive to their apartments at the local Hotel. I was sitting near and we talked, do not remember exactly all questions and answers we had exchanged that moments, but I remember exactly that I have blamed Roman for stealing "Set me free" title from Depeche Mode, he declined and seems since then he did not want to continue conversation, on other hand, Vladimir Nechitailo had other points of view and we had a great talks regarding DM and Technologia, and he invited me to the dressing room, where he showed me some issues of Moscow newspaper, where he was main redactor, "Long Play" - mostly DM related. All this happen as soon as I have introduced myself as a leader of local DM movement. He gave me about 40 newspapers and asked to contribute with others. Signed poster of "Technologia" with words "To Vladimir from Us" was a nice bonus from him. Pity that I have not saved it. Well, show time, all was pretty fast, about 2 hours and some songs for encore. audience was pretty friendly and all went well, I was standing few meters, may be less, in front of Vladimir Nechitailo, singing along.

---After a show I went backstage and asked Vladimir to have some photos together, we have invited Kokhaev and Rjabtsev, but they were tired and did not show a big will for the shots. So we had made 5 shots, you may see them on this page. Nice and funny images.

---Next day morning, we (me and journalist) have met with Vladimir Nechitailo in his room in "Lotus" hotel. He gave us his room number, but he mistaken and gave us not his but Roman Rjabtsev one, we were calling the room and sleepy Roman told that Nechitailo gone to the local market to buy some stuff for him. Good Idea was to ask him the right number of Nechitailo's apartments and we have called his room, he was sleeping. He did not go to any place. We entered his room, all clothes were on the floor, leather jacket still wet from sweat was hanged on the chair. We have spent a great time, around 2+ hours, recorded al interview on audio tape and agreed to meet for additional questions with him and Roman before the second show, which had to be hold later same evening. We have met with "Technologia" again before the show, strangely that I have not seen Leonid Velichkovski, another guy took his place. As I was told later, he could not take part and someone replaced him. Almost no contact with Andrei Kokhaev, he refused to talk and give any interviews. So I have not came closer to him, respected his will. We have finished all interviews, all was done in perfect way. I had to spend that evening last few hours with the band. After second show, we had spent about one hour or so, with Vladimir and agreed to stay in touch regarding "Long Play" distribution and Technologia promotion.

---Week after, local newspaper had published our interview, all was edited and became much more short then it supposed to be, we were explained that all this cose of the limited pages availability, they could allow only 3/4 of the page and not more. I have sent Vladimir one newspaper with interview, as I have promised, and all photos that we have taken together. For about a year, almost every month-two I called him to find out how goes with new album and any future issues of "Long Play" but seems that the ones I have received personally form him were last and no more issues will be again. Do not remember by which reason our communication lost, can not recall now, but it did.

-1993 - 2003
---Since then I was eager to have all "Technologia" releases on Cds and only almost 10 years after I had some of them. I was proud of my personal experience with the band and shared my emotions with my foreign friends, I have sent to many of them "Technologia" Cds, mostly bootleg compilations.
- 2003 until now

---Almost 12 years passed since our last conversation with Vladimir Nechitailo, and seems like it had to happen again, very funny case to re-new relations happened here. Many of the readers from Russia surely know the compilation of MP3 files titled as "Hity S Katushek" with 2-3 Technologia albums in it. Me, not a big fan of compressed music, but I bought it and I have seen photo which I knew very much. There was image of Nechitailo and me on back cover, instead of the "Technologia" image. I had a big will to talk to him same time and good I have kept all correspondence and old addresses. I have found Vladimir' phone number and called to tell him "exciting" news, for me at least. His sister gave me his new phone number and we had a long conversation, after 12 years or so of silence. I was glad he remembered me and we agreed to stay in touch. Nowadays, all much more easier then before, communication I mean. We had a tough correspondence with Vladimir via Emails and agreed to launch "Technologia" site under my domain.

---After some weeks, temporary version of the site was online, you still can access the old version of the site. If I recall right site was launched somewhere in the end of 2003, we have installed forum and visitors slowly started to visit the site. I was glad to assist with what I can, my knowledge in web not that excellent though, it was enough to assist in something very easy and simple. These were days of reunion of Technologia, they were split for some good time, new album was in process, even until now it is in recording stage. Vladimir shared with me demo versions of their future songs, which were brilliant to my mind. Pity some of the great details from the early days, Vladimir shared with me are gone, I have saved them on HDD, but seems to be lost. Such as history of old songs, their titles etc..., hope to have this information from Vladimir one day and place here.

---Honestly I was a bit shocked, that there is no information about "Technologia" in Europe, may be a few people from Europe know their name. I got in touch with several friends of mine in some European countries and agreed with them for "Technologia' promotion on some radio stations. After a short conversation between us, we agreed to start European promotion, regarding their new album release. I have prepared songs selection along with information sheet and Roman & Vladimir approved it. I have burned 30 cdrs which were individually numbered and titled as "The Selection" and awaited for the "green light" from guys, which was never given. Roman had to make final decisions, and was so busy in the studio, recording new album. So we have left the idea for now. All of the 30 cdrs were ruined and only one copy left, I have saved it for "history" purposes, info sheet is attached to the cdr, CDr's number is "30". One and the only. I have placed it in to my collection list, and count it as official item even I have made it by myself, approved by the band though.

To be continued...
